In the ZVEI Forum Smart Lighting, Prof. Tran Quoc Khanh, TU Darmstadt mentioning that Germany is the front runner in innovation in the world.

According his experience from various conferences worldwide and especially in Asia he pointed out, that beside technics Germany includes in the research for lighting as well the wellness effect on humans. Especially the future LEDs need to have the ability not just to be dimmed as well to change the light spectrum since light has an influence on the athmosphere depending of the human being mood. A BMBF study will be published this year with guideline to the industry like Philips.
Roger Karner, Philips explains that smart in the light is actining on the environment, e.g. wheather, mood, maintenance schedule, special tasks.
Summarizing: smart light of tomorrow is not just saving energy and increasing efficiency.
